Last June, we organized for the first time a sports day our the ministry in Inarawan which was open for children, young people, and families. There were about 100 people who came to participate.
There were different kinds of sports like basketball, volleyball, badminton, and children’s game. We were delighted to see many young people who came and were interested in playing sports. They were very excited and they were full of energy to play together with their friends. We had a fun time of fellowship! Breakfast and lunch were served, and there were special prizes that were given away!
Indeed, we have seen that sports ministry is an effective way for young people to have a meaningful activity where they can develop their skills, talents, and character. It helps them to build up their confidence, and practice teamwork! With the problems of drugs, gambling, and negative influences in the community, this is a way for the youth to focus on something worthwhile that would help them in their future! At the same time, we are integrating Christian values education and discipleship in the holistic development of the young people. We also recognize the support of the parents in this endeavor to encourage their children to pursue something that they are interested in, and at the same time be a positive influence in their community.
Thank you for support! Please continue to pray that this can be our regular activity, and at the same time we can pray for more volunteers to help out in this sports ministry.
